VERSION · 25 JULY 2026
bearth.io collects as little data as possible. There are currently no analytics pixels, advertising cookies or user profiling. Only information you actively submit and the minimum technical data required for operation, security, contact and requested email delivery are processed.
1 · Controller
Saimen Bearth, operator of bearth.io
Hammerstrasse 196, 4057 Basel, Switzerland
saimen@bearth.io
No public telephone number is maintained. Privacy requests can be submitted by email.
2 · Hosting and technical logs
Hostinger runs the Node.js/Express application. Technically necessary server and security logs may include IP address, time, requested resource, status code and browser information. They support delivery, diagnostics and abuse prevention and are not combined by bearth.io into advertising profiles.
Fonts and site media are self-hosted. Your selected language is stored locally in the browser (localStorage) and is not used as a personal profile.
3 · Contact form and Hostinger Mail
A contact request sends your name, email, message, form source and, where relevant, originating article to saimen@bearth.io via Hostinger Mail/SMTP. A one-time transactional acknowledgement may be sent to the supplied address.
A contact request does not create a marketing subscription. Information is retained for handling, abuse prevention and legally required documentation, then deleted when no legitimate or statutory reason remains.
4 · BEARTH SIGNAL and Hostinger Reach
Newsletter signups are sent server-side to Hostinger Reach. Reach manages contacts, double opt-in, delivery status, unsubscribe and suppression state, campaigns, delivery information, and email open/click statistics.
The email address and a compact internal note containing consent version, language, form source and possible content attribution are transmitted. bearth.io does not persist full IP addresses for the newsletter list. The Hostinger API token remains server-side.
The consent box is not preselected. When double opt-in is enabled in Reach, marketing delivery starts only after the confirmation email is clicked. Every marketing email includes the unsubscribe facility supplied by Reach, and opt-outs are respected in Reach.
5 · Purposes and legal bases
Newsletter delivery relies on explicit consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and Swiss electronic-marketing requirements). Contact requests are processed for pre-contractual or business communication and legitimate interests (GDPR Article 6(1)(b) or (f)). Addresses are not sold or shared for third-party advertising.
6 · Payments and external platforms
Purchases are handled by Gumroad Inc. as an independent controller. bearth.io does not process card or payment data. Links to Gumroad, YouTube, TikTok and Instagram open third-party services governed by their own policies.
7 · Processors and international handling
Hostinger services are used for hosting, mail and Reach. Data may be processed in their systems according to their contractual, infrastructure and privacy terms. Gumroad and external platforms act independently for their own services.
8 · Your rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction and, where applicable, portability, and may withdraw consent prospectively at any time. Use the email unsubscribe link or contact saimen@bearth.io. The Swiss FDPIC is the competent authority in Switzerland; EU residents may also complain to their local supervisory authority.
9 · Changes and languages
This policy is updated when services or data flows change. The German version controls. English is a convenience translation; Swahili and Sheng visitors are referred to the English or German legal text.
